What will the sound quality be like if I put my amp through a mixer with a DI box instead of miking the amp?
I am recording using a Behringer Xenyx 122fx. This is a 40w electric guitar amplifier, and I'm using the line out.
You're going to have to experiment and see what you like. You won't get the same tone if you direct than you will by miking your cab. It won't be drastically different but it won't be the same.
