Shure E4C vs. Ultimate Ears Super Fi.5 Pro?
Hey guys, I'm in a dilemna here. I've finally decided to get rid of my Bose Triport Headphones and am looking to step up to something smaller and better. I've been looking at the Shure E4C's and the Ultimate Ears Super FI.5 Pro's as well as the bass version of the Ultimate Ears. I'm really looking to spend about $200. I listen to alot of Ryan Adams, the Wallflowers, Dave Matthews, alt country stuff, but I also like Incubus, Chevelle, Tool, and Metallica. I like bass, but I don't want to sacrifice mids and highs for it. Which one do you think I should get in terms of sound quality? Thanks for the advice! P.S. Accuracy is more important to me than comfort.
If you are looking for accuracy, with quality bass, you should spend a little more and look into getting the Sleek Audio SA6. I have these currently and they are definitely better than the two presented choices IMO. They have these interchangeable tubes and ports so you can choose your own treble and bass. They are also very accurate, but not anemic in bass like the Etymotics ER4S. You can buy them at soundearphones.com. Email them and you might get a cheaper price than the retail $249. The Sleek will beat both the Super.fi 5 Pro and the Shure E4C, even the newer Shure SE420. If you want more help, try going to Headfi.org.
