How can I place recessed lights if it cannot use up the space evenly to have symmetry?
I have a sitting room space that is about 15'x16'. The left side of the room has a fireplace so I know I'm going to place a light in front of it. There should be a column of lights going down the left side then, about 3 lights. Now the tricky part is the right side of the room. My house is old and the roof on the right side of the room slants down too much so there is not enough space for the housing, and that means I can't place the lights evenly with the left to make the whole room symmetrical.
The look then becomes one column on the left and one column in the middle of the room, can't place lights further to the right side of the room. Originally it was going to be a box shape with 8 lights or a U shape with 7 lights. Is there a better way to place the lights? The bottom wall will have a picture and the right wall, opposite the fireplace, will most likely have a picture there too. There is no top wall since the room leads into the dining area.
You could consider adding four recessed lights in a square pattern which would provide even lighting throughout the room.
