What are the advantages/disadvantages of connecting speakers to subwoofer?
My receiver is a HTIB and I have upgraded all the speakers including the passive sub to an active sub. should I use the subs speaker inputs to connect my floor standing speakers? What are the pros and the cons of doing this?

It would appear that if you connect your other speakers to the sub outputs, that you will see two effects.
First, you will be limited to the amount of power your sub can deliver, and it will be less than that of your receiver.
Second, you will lose the ability to use your tone controls on your receiver.
Both effects are rather negative, I don't see a positive. I think the sub's outputs are for people without a receiver or amp.
