How can we lower/eleminate the audio feedback from our 60 watt keyboard amp (used for vocals)?
Because of so much feedback, we can't blast the amp as much as needed to hear the vocals over all the music in our band. Unfortunately, we can never hear the vocals over heavier riffs.
Are there any ways to lower or eliminate the amount of feedback from this amp? The mic and amp ARE pretty far apart, but at around volume 6 we get a big amount of feedback from the amp.
It's a keyboard amp, so that's part of the problem.
It's more about direction than distance. The amp needs to be in front of the mic, facing away from it. Of course, that makes it tough for the singer to hear his vocals. Scrape up a few bucks for a used PA with a vocal monitor and you'll be much happier. Or just turn everybody down a little so the amp isn't straining so hard.
