Way Mono Crossover
Looking at 1200 watt mono class D amp 600 cont power with 2 12' 1200 watts max power subs.. is this to much?
I have a honda civic 2002 EX and Im looking for best bass chasing soundsystem I can afford! I'm leaning toward going Pioneer Premier everything and I have no clue about sound systems by the way! Im told there is a sealed and portable box and which do ya'll prefer..1200 watt amp I shouldnt need a capacitor right? Im working for gov't and don't really want any police attention far as noise ordniance because if i get ticketed it goes back to my main boss! Im 24 years old and all Im trying to do is get girls attention. I posted earlier about spending 6k lol.. I found out it will only take around $1500 or so to make my car sound good! Since it has a crossover what does the hz need to be when it has 40~240? Any additional information i didn't ask or you feel the need to tell me please do so. Well, since you mentioned going Pioneer Premier everything, I personally recommend going with their SPL edition subs. They're an 800W RMS (2000W Peak) sub that sounds awesome, and they're cheap. However, if you have a 1200W amp and two subs with 1200W peaks, they should be good since the RMS is approx. 600W per sub, and you'll be putting about that to each sub with that amp. You'll get better bass with a ported box, btw. You will probably want a cap. to maintain your electrical system from dimming everytime the bass hits. 1 Farad would be sufficient. As far as the crossover, I can't help you, adjust until it sounds right. Make sure to use the biggest wiring you can (4 gauge from battery to amp/cap) in order to get the max power out of everything. And as far as the cops go, install a toggle switch in your car, in a hidden position near your seat, that connects to the remote wire. Switch in on position, everything's kosher. Switch in off position the amp doesn't receive a signal and you get no bass from your subs. Then, IF you get pulled over, you flip the switch without the cop seeing you flip it, and you have no bass. Then when he asks to hear your stereo, you give him what you got, minus the subs which are cut out. Then no ticket, because you got no bass. Tell him they're broken or blown or something, and that you need to fix them. Should be all good with that, and that's pretty cheap to install. It's saved me from several tickets.
